EXECUTIVE BOARD

2019 - 2020 SEASON - HIRED!

Chairperson: Andrea Whelan
Musical Producer: Emily Formato
Play Producer: Kayla T. Marshall
Treasurer: Brigid Hern
Secretary: Natalee Marini
Marketing Executive: Maryam Mullenix
BIOS

THE POSITIONS

Chairperson

The Chair is the Guild’s head. They work with the rest of the E-board to create a calendar of meetings and events for the upcoming semester; run all General Body Meetings; reserve space for certain events (like the First GBM, Big Wind Blows, Banquet, and the alternate space for either the play or musical); do public relations and answer questions from the community; mediate between individuals and groups when there are problems; keep all other Executive Board members on task; and generally serve as the overseer of all Guild events throughout the year.

Secretary

The Secretary is a key part of overall Guild administration, but also plans some really cool events outside our shows. The Secretary keeps track of voting rights for every single Guild member; takes meeting minutes and emails them to our Email List (click HERE to sign up for emails!) after General Body meetings; prints chops to pass out during tabling for auditions and tech week; plans Coffeehouse (which includes reserving a venue, ordering catering, scheduling all acts, and decorating); organizes Banquet (which includes creating a schedule for the roasts of our outgoing seniors and orders a Banquet gift to hand out at the end of the evening); creates a year-long scrapbook to pass out at Banquet; and organizes our Scavenger Hunt in the Spring, as well as another bonding activity of their own choosing in the Fall.

Treasurer

The Treasurer, like the Chair, has been entrusted with Signature Responsibility–meaning the University trusts them to authorize purchases on behalf of the organization using the organization’s funds. The Treasurer monitors the Guild’s accounts; creates budgets for each production, each individual Artistic Team position, and other Guild events like Coffeehouse and Banquet; communicates directly with the Artistic Team about their budgets; fills out SASP requests and Purchase Requests when A-Team members need to make purchases (see our purchasing guidelines for A-Team HERE!); deposits our income from ticket sales into our account; and keeps detailed records of all Guild spending and income.

Play / Musical Producers

The Play and Musical Producers are each the masters of their productions. The Producers play a key role in casting the shows; hiring the Artistic Team; running 20 minutes with the cast each week to help mediate between cast and Rehearsal Team to create a better rehearsal space; mediate between A-Team members, or any individuals within the process who are having trouble; run all Artistic Team meetings and Design Meetings with the Tech Director and Director each week; remind all Cast and A-Team of their specific responsibilities and deadlines throughout the semester; be a focal point for information about the production and facilitate communication between groups who need to share information about their specific duties.

Marketing Executive

The Marketing Executive will be responsible for overseeing and hiring (in conjunction with E-Board) marketing members who will be split up between the two shows and the guild to ensure that every aspect of the guild is advertised. This position is for GUILD, not for the individual shows. This job promotes the guild as a whole and then the shows.
The Marketing Executive will also be responsible for:
  • overseeing and Completing the hiring process for Marketing Team including Assistant Marketing Executives for each show
  • creating a year-long marketing plan for the guild and effectively implement such plan
  • developing a year long calendar of marketing goals including purchasing and posting deadlines (ex. Orders, publicity day, etc.)
  • working on this plan over the summer of tenure and during winter break for the coming semester
  • working with the Secretary to draft and distribute communications and updates to the general body
  • maintaining the public calendar of events for the Guild
  • upkeeping and managing all social media platforms
  • delegating marketing tasks to AMEs and marketing team
  • working with secretary to monitor voting rights
  • planning events with the Secretary, including Banquet, Coffeehouse, and misc. events such as Ball
  • developing marketing budget with Treasurer
  • collaborating with Treasurer on T-Shirt orders and other larger scale purchases
  • working with directors to match marketing design and strategy with tone and style of the show, and facilitate communication of marketing needs between Rehearsal team and marketing team
